A neighbor would like to alert everyone about a coyote in the neighborhood. She posted on our private Facebook page, South Cirby Neighborhood Group, but we wanted to spread the word to as many people as we can reach. Here is her post.
Hello all, it seems we have a coyote in the area that is now out and about both in the morning and after dark. A few cats have been taken and the neighborhood dogs seem to smell and sense it. I’m not sure if it is one or more, but many of us have seen it. I spoke to the area trapper that knows the area and he will spend some time looking around. He suggested keeping cats indoors and small dogs protected. Please do not leave food of any kind outside that might attract them. We all walk the neighborhood at various times. With the school and park here, there are lots of kids as well. Be vigilant and let’s all do what we can to keep everyone and our pets safe!
